Basic goal and principles of standardization

GOALS OF THE MACEDONIAN NATIONAL STANDARDIZATION
The goals of the Macedonian standardization include: promotion of quality and increase of the level of product safety, procedures and services, contributes to the improvement of the quality of life and people's health, property safety and protection and the environment and nature. In addition, the rational and economical utilization of human labor, materials and energy leads to improvement of production efficiency, on one hand, and reduction of the variety of products, processes and services, on the other hand. All this enables strengthening of international trade, i.e. decrease or removal of technical barriers.


PRINCIPLES OF THE MACEDONIAN NATIONAL STANDARDIZATION

  • Voluntary application of Macedonian standards;
  • Openness for participation of all interested parties;
  • Transparency of the standard preparation process;
  • Reaching decisions with consensus;
  • Business and consumer – oriented standards, available to the public;
  • Harmonization with the scientific and technical level of development and experience, as well as harmonization with the rules of the international and European standardization.
